Steering Rack – A Longest Mechanical Part Uses in Automobiles

The car and the heavy vehicles are the emblem of the modern science as well as the modern
world. Nowadays all sophisticated family uses cars to maintain their luxurious life. Not only
them but also the common beings also go here and there by bus or taxi. This is also the case
and as well as heavy vehicles. So without car lifestyle is not suitable and we cannot live,
and we cannot communicate each other without the car. For this thought the car has been
discovered. At first the car was something vintage type after that different changes and
modern technology makes the case more modern and beautiful.

But without any movement that mean without changing the direction the car will be
immobile because it could be any type of accident. Because the road or way or lane
whatever we can say on which the car is running is not straight. It has many turns, right, left
and all other traffics from which the car can go. So it needs to change direction of the car,
bus, taxi, truck etc. These heavy vehicles cannot change direction by the force of human
hands. The force should be created by the same machine or a simple lever. That simple lever
is called Steering Rack. This a long setup which we will discuss further and we will discuss
what its mechanism is and how can it works.

At first we should know what is steering. Steering is a simple round shame iron made circle
whose one side is toward the driver and the other side is connected to the long rod is called
steering shaft. The steering shaft is connected to the round shape pinion whose end has
teeth like gears. The pinion is connected with the rack. The tack is nothing but a strong
iron rod having small teeth on its body and the pinion teeth helps it to move right and left.
The rack is connected to the tie rod which is a small but strong iron rod and lastly the tie
rod is connected to steering arms which situated behind the front wheels of the car. When
changing the direction the tie bad take a pressure on the steering arm and it helps to change
the direction. The whole setup is called Steering Rack.
